10:00AM - Visit Lake Bovilla & Gamti Mountain
We leave Tirana and take an off-road drive to reach the starting point of our hike to Bovilla Lake. From there, we begin our hike towards the picturesque Bovilla Lake area. The trail around the canyon and dam provides a good path for hiking with beautiful views. This spot offers stunning scenery, with mountains blending into the green lake. The hike involves some rock climbing, leading to a viewpoint at the top of the Bovilla track. From here, you can see the Gamti and Brari mountains to the west and the Dajti mountain to the southeast.
01:00PM - Visit Shpella e Pellumbasit & Erzen Canyon
Next on our agenda is the ancient Pellumbas Cave, nestled in the heart of Erezini Canyon. Initially a refuge for wild bears around 40,000 years ago, it later housed ancient humans dating back to the Middle Paleolithic era, approximately 30,000 years ago. Over time, during the First and Second World Wars, locals sought shelter here. Today, this cave offers a glimpse into its rich history and serves as a captivating destination. Visitors describe it as a unique experience. From here, you can enjoy stunning views of rugged mountains, valleys, the Erzeni river, and the canyon. The hike to reach the cave takes about an hour each way, with an elevation gain of up to 600 meters. The entrance is easily accessible with a wooden platform, providing an opportunity to pause and take in the surroundings. After the hike, there's free time to relax and unwind.
